Founder of Yoga Ensenada, Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher – Baja, Mexico.

Diana has been practicing yoga since 1998. In 2000 she started practicing ashtanga with Tim Miller in Encintas, California and completed her Teacher Training with him in 2003. One year after she completed the Fist Series and the Second Series Teacher Trainings with David Swenson in Vancouver, Canada.

She was fortunate enough to practice with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in two of his trips to America and in 2006 she traveled to India for the first time to study with the Jois family at the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute. Since then she has returned to India several times taking the opportunity to study also indian philosophy, ayurvedic massage and meditation.

To share this beautiful practice with others she founded the Ashtanga Yoga Ensenada in Baja, Mexico in 2004. Making the personal commitment to honor her beloved teachers by following the principles that they so gracefully embody of compassion, kindness, honesty and humor.

Shivani started meditating as a high school student, and eventually found a spiritual home in the teachings of Vedic and Buddhist philosophy. With a calling to share the physical practices of yoga, she completed her first teacher training at Laughing Lotus Yoga Center in 2002. Expanding into the service of natural therapy and healing, Shivani began courses in Traditional Chinese Medicine, graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2008, and is a licensed Massage Therapist and practitioner of Shiatsu.

With gratitude to all teachers, she offers thanks to her parents, Safirah Rabb and Charles Davenport for giving her life; Her maternal grandmother, Fannie Foster for showing how love becomes action; Christopher Hildebrant and Faith Fennessey for the inspiration to be a disciplined student; Barbara Verrochi and Kristen Leigh for their support in daily practice; Lynne Barsalona-Cannisi, Marianne Turner Fuenmayor and Dr. Edward Lamadrid for their continued guidance in exploring and understanding eastern medicine. With love and humility all practice is offered to the lotus feet of Amma Sri Karunamayi.
